Your friendly guide to the Emirates
Hajjency is an independent travel magazine about the United Arab Emirates. We turn the questions travellers ask every day into clear, practical and honest guides.
Our story
Planning a trip to the UAE raises a lot of questions. Do I need a visa? What should I wear in a mall or a mosque? Is Dubai expensive? When is it too hot to visit? Answers are often scattered, outdated or written in confusing language. Hajjency was created to fix exactly that.
We started with a simple idea: good travel information should be easy to find, easy to understand and free for everyone. Instead of long, generic texts, we write guides that get straight to the point, explain the reasons behind local rules and customs, and help you decide what to do next.
Today our library includes 51,602 articles across 861 topics — from Dubai and Abu Dhabi travel tips, culture and etiquette to food, shopping, desert adventures and everyday life in the Emirates — and it keeps growing.
Our mission
Our mission is to help every visitor experience the UAE with confidence: to plan smarter, spend wisely, respect local traditions and enjoy the trip. Whether it’s your first stopover in Dubai or a move to Abu Dhabi, we want you to leave our site better prepared than before.
Who we are
Hajjency is run by a small, independent team of writers and editors who love the region — its cities, deserts, coastline and culture. We research every topic carefully, write in plain language and refresh our articles as rules and prices change.
We are not a travel agency, airline or government body, and we don’t sell tours or visas. What we can do is explain how things work, point you to official sources and help you ask the right questions.

How we create our guides
Research
We start from the real questions travellers ask and check them against reputable sources: official UAE government portals, tourism authorities, airlines and established travel organisations.
Write clearly
Each guide opens with a direct answer, then explains the details — costs, rules, timing and local tips — in plain language you can act on straight away.
Review & update
We check articles against our editorial standards, correct mistakes quickly and update content when visa rules, prices or regulations change.
What we stand for
Accuracy
We aim to be correct, clear and honest about what is known — and to say so when rules are unclear or changing.
Respect for local culture
We explain traditions, laws and etiquette with respect, so visitors and hosts both feel at ease.
Independence
Advertising keeps our content free, but advertisers have no say in what we write or recommend.
Respect for readers
We write for real people: friendly, judgement-free and easy to read on any device.
